Matchday 22 – FKF Women Premier League
Sunday, 17 May 2026
Zetech University, Mang’u Campus

Kayole Starlets (6th) return to action on Sunday for their final fixture of the 2025/26 FKF Women Premier League season as they take on Zetech Sparks (7th) at Zetech University, Mang’u Campus. After a challenging yet competitive campaign, the newly promoted Kayole will be aiming to conclude their return to top-flight season on a positive note and reward supporters with a strong performance.

With Kenya Police Bullets already confirmed as league champions and both sides having secured their safety for next season, attention now turns to the race for a top-half finish. Sixth place remains up for grabs heading into the final round of fixtures, setting up an important clash between two evenly matched teams eager to finish the season strongly. The encounter is expected to produce an entertaining contest as both sides chase maximum points and momentum heading into the next campaign.

Past Meeting

Kayole Starlets faced Zetech Sparks in the first leg earlier this year in what turned out to be a highly competitive and exciting encounter. Despite dominating possession for large spells and creating several scoring opportunities throughout the match, Kayole fell to a 2-0 defeat after Zetech proved clinical in front of goal.

The technical bench will now be hoping the team can build on the positives from that performance while improving efficiency in the final third ahead of Sunday’s rematch.

What’s At Stake

Kayole, now at 22 points, head into the fixture in impressive form after recording back-to-back victories against Trinity Starlets and Madira Girls in recent outings. Zetech Sparks, currently with 19 points on the log, come into the match searching for a response after suffering four consecutive defeats against Ulinzi Starlets, Bungoma Queens, Madira Girls and Kibera Soccer Women.

While neither side remains involved in the title race or relegation battle, Sunday’s fixture still carries significant importance as both teams continue fighting for a sixth-place finish on the final league standings. A positive result for Kayole Starlets would not only strengthen their final position on the table but also provide the perfect ending to a season that has demanded resilience, growth and determination from the squad.

The players will also be eager to reward supporters for the unwavering backing shown throughout the campaign.

Team News

The squad has continued preparations during the week with high-intensity training sessions at Calvary Sports Ground as the technical bench fine-tunes plans for the final match of the season. The atmosphere within the camp remains positive with players fully focused on delivering a strong final performance before the curtain closes on the 2025/26 campaign.

Kayole will, however, be without top scorer Lindah Kihara for the trip, while Salome Drailer remains under assessment from the medical team after picking up a slight injury during training.
