Kayole Starlets officially open their new campaign on Sunday, 20 September, when they host newcomers Shabana Starlets at Dandora Stadium from 3pm.
It will be a historic encounter as the two sides prepare to meet for the first time ever, adding an extra layer of intrigue to an already highly anticipated season opener. For Kayole, Sunday marks the beginning of another campaign following a strong return to the FKF Women’s Premier League last season. The Starlets finished sixth in their first season back in the top flight and will be looking to build on that experience as they aim for further progress this season.
Kayole have also strengthened their squad during the off-season with several new additions, giving the team fresh options as they look to improve on last season’s campaign. There will be a familiar touch to the opposition, however, with former Kayole Starlets players Hellen Ochieng and Pauline Kathuruh now part of the Shabana Starlets squad. Their presence adds an interesting storyline to the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
Beyond the football, fans at Dandora Stadium will have plenty to look forward to. Ushindi, Kayole Starlets’ newly introduced sponsor, will be on site for a special matchday activation, with several gifts set to be presented to fans during the game. And perhaps best of all, entry to the match is FREE, giving supporters the perfect opportunity to turn up, back the Starlets and be part of the opening day.
