Already crowned WNSL Zone A Champions ahead of the season finale, Kayole Starlets received a guard of honour from Barcelona SC before kick-off—an apt recognition of our remarkable campaign.
The game kicked off with intensity as both teams looked to assert control. We, however, proved sharper in attack, creating early chances. Shalin Otieno and Molly Owuor threatened to break the deadlock, but their efforts narrowly missed.
The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Molly Owuor unleashed a powerful shot that hit the crossbar. The rebound fell to Sarah Chalovu, whose deflected shot found the net, putting the champions ahead. Despite Drailer’seffort to double the lead shortly after, the shot went wide under pressure.
In the second half, Kayole maintained dominance. Substitutes Melissa Vivian and Esther Wanjiru injected energy, with Chalovu almost scoring a second from a Molly cross, only for the goal to be ruled offside. The persistence paid off in the 76th minute when Molly Owuor struck from the edge of the box with her left foot, sealing the win.
