Kayole Starlets FC 4 : 0 Hildana Queens FC

In the First Half, we came out strong, quickly asserting our dominance. Esther Wanjiru opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the game after receiving a perfectly delivered long ball from Hellen Ochieng. We kept on pushing and managed to double our lead in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Hildanah’s goalkeeper. Molly Owuor who was running riot down the wing, pounced on the opportunity and scored into an empty net. The girls kept on pushing and their effort was rewarded, with Nuru Hadima delivering a pinpoint corner kick in the 35th minute that found Mercy Mang’uro, who tapped in from close range to make it 3-0. We controlled the remainder of the half, leaving our opponents struggling to create meaningful opportunities.

In the Second half, Hildanah appeared to fight back and even had the ball in the net in the 52nd minute, but the goal was ruled out due to a foul on our Goalkeeper, Pauline Kathuruh. Kathuruh was instrumental again few minutes later, pulling off a crucial fingertip save to deny the opponents. Hellen Ochieng and Shalen Njeri neutralized majority of the opponents’ threat for the better part of the second half.

In the 64th minute, Coach Busu made her first Substitution, bringing in Shalin Otieno in place of Nuru Hadima who had dominated in the heart of midfield. Shortly after, we extended our lead to 4-0 when our Captain Sarah Chalovu scored, benefiting from a beautifully timed long ball from Lavyne Achola. Another change was made in the 78th minute with Melissa Vivian replacing Salome Drailer

Despite continued efforts to increase the scoreline from the girls, the game ended 4-0 in our favor showcasing a dominant performance from start to finish. This victory extended our lead to the top of the WNSL table to 29 points. We also remain unbeaten at home in the League this season
