Some people coach a football club. Others leave behind a legacy. Today, Kayole Starlets FC bids farewell to one of the greatest figures in our history, Coach Mary Adhiambo.

Since taking charge of the senior team at the start of 2023, Coach Mary has managed 67 competitive matches across the FKF Women’s Premier League, FKF Women’s National Super League and FKF Women’s Cup. Under her leadership, the team found its identity, scoring 98 goals (since the start of 2023/24 season) in all competitions, including a memorable 2-1 victory over Tanzania’s Fountain Gate Princess FC in an international friendly in 2024.

Her greatest achievement came during the 2024/25 season, when she guided Kayole Starlets back to the FKF Women’s Premier League. It was a remarkable campaign that saw the team remain unbeaten at home throughout the entire season, before sealing promotion in style with a commanding 3-0 victory over Madira Soccer Assassins to lift the FKF Women’s National Super League Overall Championship at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru

Beyond the trophies and milestones, Coach Busu was a mentor, leader, and mother figure to many of our players. She believed in young talent, nurtured academy graduates, and inspired generations of footballers to dream bigger while instilling discipline, confidence, and resilience on and off the pitch. During her 3-years tenure, she promoted 5 players from Kayole Starlets Academy to the Senior Team

Her influence extended far beyond the dressing room. She united players, staff, management, and supporters, helping build the culture and family spirit that defines Kayole Starlets today. As Coach Busu begins a new chapter, she leaves behind a club that is stronger because of her leadership and countless lives she has touched.
